The Windows 8 release date is now evident, and Microsoft has recently sent out press invites for this event which is likely to throw more light on the amazing operating system. We have had our hands on the developer, and consumer editions of Windows 8, and so far it has kept us happy and contended when it comes to performance advances over the previous OS, Windows 7. Here’s more right after the jump!
Windows 8 Release Date Confirmed- October 25 ‘2012
The invitation, which is a bit rhyming this time reads- “You’re invited to celebrate. Windows 8. Please save the date: Thursday, October 25 New York City“. Now surprisingly, this invitation neither gives us an exact location, nor a specific time, and it doesn’t event talk about Windows 8 release, but that’s the only thing we are expecting from Microsoft anytime soon. Microsoft recently, in co-operation with Nokia held a public event in which Lumia 920 was unveiled, and this will be its second event this fall, confirming the Windows 8 release date. While Nokia might have released an iPhone 5 equivalent smartphone, the Lumia 920, Apple is expected to unveil its iPad Mini in a public event which will take place next month. Likewise, Microsoft is expected to unveil its Surface tablet anytime this fall. It’s great to see two competing tech giants taking up a similar approach, and we of course will have new gadgets to compare.
Windows 8 release date is October 25 ‘2012, as confirmed by sources, but its not just an update to previous Windows. The Windows 8 marks the beginning of a revolution both, in tablet/mobile OS, as well as the Desktop/Laptop OS with its much standardized touch interface, and the metro style UI which has become the USP of Microsoft recently, after they changed their logo.
