While going through my Twitter timeline few minutes ago, I came across an interesting tweet from none other than the popular email client for iOS and Mac, yes, the Sparrow that is has now been acquired by the search engine giant Google. To start with, Sparrow is a popular email client for Mac and iOS which comes with much advanced options like pull to refresh, and instant reply, forwarding or deleting. This is not all, Sparrow is one of the most loved apps in the app store and had millions of users worldwide.

Well, we are now not sure how the email client will evolved under the acquisition of the search engine giant Google. Surprisingly, Google , the developer of Android has been seen showing interest in an Apple product oriented service. May be they will modify Sparrow and introduce a better email client for their Android OS. Anything further could only be said when Google opens its mouth on this acquisition.

Sparrow’s Dom Leca announced that the present app will no longer receive any further updates. In short, the app just got killed by Google. It will no longer be developed keeping in mind iOS and Mac. This came not as a pleasant surprise to us at Gadgec, since we loved Sparrow for iOS and Google’s acquisition of the app means its death. However, Dom Leca also announced that they will be working on the next version of Gmail for iOS, while the current version will receive some updates from them.

May be this acquisition results in a much better app for iOS and Mac, but we are sure many iOS and Mac users will not be much happy with this acquisition. Let us know your views via the comments section below. For more, keep subscribed!
