A $599 Samsung Galaxy S III With Unlockable Bootloader For Developers Coming Soon

A $599 Samsung Galaxy S III can be seen coming soon in the market with support from Verizon. Something special about this edition of Galaxy S3 is that it has been designed specifically for developers only. The device features unlockable bootloader and will be sold off the contract to customers. Verizon is the only cellular company which is shipping Galaxy S3 with an unlockable bootloader, others have been selling them with a locked one. The news is now official and can be encountered on Samsung’s website, however, they have yet not disclosed the price to customers as of now, but other tech giants are expecting its price to be around $599 for the 32GB variant which is otherwise available for around $649 in the US market.



Sporting a resolution of 720X1280 pixels, backed by 4.8-inch super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, and a band of 16M colors, the device is the best in terms of multimedia playback and gaming. The TouchWiz UI v4.0 Interface with MultiTouch feature comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection, so you just don’t need to worry about the scratches on the screen any more.

Running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the smartphone is a powerhouse with a 1.5 GHz dual core processor backed by Exynos 4212 Quad Chipset which gives you an appreciable multi-tasking experience without slagging. The camera is exceptionally good, which sports a 8-MP – 3264 x 2448 resolution and comes with integrated flash as well. Face , smile detection, HD video recording, auto focus and geo-tagging and videos can be recorded at 1080p@30fps.

A front 1.9 MP camera is also available on the device which records videos at 720p@30fps and comes with an option to alter color balance. Other auto focus modes are Shot Modes, Auto, Cloudy, Daylight, Fluorescent, Incandescent; Camcorder; DivX; HD Recording; HD Playback; Video Share; Zero lag shutter; Burst Mode; Best Shot; Share Shot; Smile Shot; Buddy photo share.


Other than these, the device supports all basic connectivity options like WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G and contains GPS, A-GPS options. Also, Samsung has confirmed that the device would be sold in Pebble Blue color only and will be available for sale on Samsung’s official website only.

The release date and price has yet not been disclosed.
