It’s finally September ‘2012, and we are a step ahead to the launch of a smartphone, which will change everything for the future. Yes, we are talking about the much rumored, much talked about Apple’s next generation iPhone, or the iPhone 5 as the world loves to call it. While we have been talking about Apple’s iPhone 5 ever since we came into existence in June ‘2012, we now have a set of confirmed information regarding the upcoming smartphone, and we love to spread the news as and when we confirm it. Further, like we always recommend, please do not trust any website claiming to sell or pre book Apple’s iPhone 5 since no official word has been received from the Cupertino based giant, Apple. Today’s report specifically talks about Apple’s upcoming headphones.
Apple Releasing New Headphones With iPhone 5?
First pointed out by a Vietnamese site Tinhte.vn, there are rumors all over the web claiming that a whole new set of headphones will be introduced by Apple along with its upcoming iPhone 5. Apple has been consistent so far, in maintaining the design and standards of its iDevice headphones. The Vietnamese site published a video recently displaying Apple’s new headphones. While the headphones actually look good to eyes, we have no official confirmation of the rumor as of now. You can find the video below.
Further, our friends at MacRumors were able to translate the audio from the video, and here is an excerpt of the same:
“In my hands are the new earphones for the iPhone 5 that is about to come out – Apple’s next generation of iPod [sic]. These will replace the current earphones that are on the market. These are manufactured at Phax Co factory in Vietnam. They have the appearance of a horse’s head, not like earbuds. When they are worn, they have a much smaller profile. They have the appearance of a fully integrated, single unit – there’s no part that looks like it would come apart – not like earbuds; the integrated design is characteristic of Apple products. Here I have the old earphones for comparison. The new ones are much smaller; when they are worn, they do not hurt the way earbuds do.”
While we don’t have an official word coming from any trusted source on these claimed Apple headphones, we do notice a mark on the headphones which read “Designed by Apple in California, Assembled in Vietnam”. Now we do know that Apple has been using Vietnamese factories for producing headphones in the past, so there are slight chances that Apple is thinking of introducing new headphones for its iPhone 5.
The headphones, ultrasonically welded together match Apple’s recent patent which reads the following:
“Seamless headphones may be ultrasonically welded such that the welding produces an unpolished welded structure. A portion of the unpolished welded structure can be cut to a predetermined size, sanded, polished, and cleaned to provide a seamless polished headphone component.”
The two facts, first being Apple’s headphones being produced in Vietnam, and then Apple’s patent regarding ultrasonic welding in headphones give a strong backing to the existence of these headphones. We are busy digging deep into the report, and will confirm it as and when we get information from our sources close to Apple.
